The Great Debate: Biodegradable Diapers

I've been toying with the idea of cloth diapers for my 7 month old baby. Unfortunately,  my husband and parents (who spend a lot of time with my kids) flat refused to participate.  After researching a bit and watching some YouTube videos,  I decided that cloth diapering might not be up my alley, either. The next best thing? Biodegradable diapers, of course! Up first, Honest Co.

These diapers are so stinking cute,  with all the different designs to choose from.  I like that you can decide to pay for the delivery service or just pick them up at Target. After ordering one box of diapers and wipes from www.honest.com and also buying a pack or two at Target, I decided that the cute designs aren't worth the price. No one sees my little one's keister enough and, frankly, she doesn't care if she's wearing strawberries,  giraffe, or bow ties.

Test number two was Seventh Generation. These are pretty boring looking but made up for that in the price department.  They are a good $2-$3 cheaper than Honest Co and you get more in each pack. Score! After going through a pack of the diapers,  I noticed my little one had a diaper rash that would not go away.  At first, I didn't put it together, but halfway through my 2nd pack, it hit me. As I stood at the changing table, slathering her nether regions with Aquaphor, I realized the only common denominator was the diapers! I promptly stopped using them and switched to Babyganics.  We are halfway through the box of Babyganics Diapers and so far, there hasn't been a whole lot of change. The redness seems to have cleared up a tiny bit, but I think I'm going to contact her doctor just in case. Hannah had to spend a night in the hospital a couple weeks ago and they gave us a pack of diapers when we ran out. These were your standard issue Pampers. I'd never realized before making the switch to natural that regular diapers SMELL HORRIBLE! As soon as I opened the pack of Pampers, I was blasted by this potent chemical smell and literally had to turn my face away. I'm hoping LO's diaper rash clears up so I don't have to give up the all natural diapers, but of course, I will do whatever is best for her little bum!
