Fleming's Steakhouse-Best Steakhouse for Special Occassions
Happy 4 year anniversary to my awesome husband! We are trying to save money right now because we are having a house built so we agreed on just going out to dinner. We had received a gift card to Fleming's last Christmas, so we decided to finally put it to use! We have eaten at Fleming's one time prior and it was super delicious so I was excited to go back. I made our reservations online, which is super easy to do, and we arrived a few minutes early. I thought we would have to wait, but once we checked in, we were immediately ushered to our table. The atmosphere is dim, yet warm and inviting. We were greeted two times as Mr. and Mrs. Yingling, wished a happy anniversary, and given an anniversary card! Everyone is so polite!
Justin and I ordered our drinks; Blue Moon for him, Riesling for me; while perusing the menu. The last time we were at Fleming's, I had steak, so this time I decided to try the chicken with spinach gnocchi. Justin ordered the lobster tails. We also shared a salad and asparagus. The salad arrived first and it was amazing. It was just a simple Caesar salad, but it wasn't soaked in dressing, had just enough fresh Parmesan, and was accompanied by a toasted slice of bread. Our meal arrived shortly after we finished the salad and, let me tell you, the sight and smell was enough to make your salivary glands go crazy! Our server offered to de-shell Justin's lobster and he did so with the finesse of a professional fisherman. No broken shell, no mess, nothing. I half expected him to cut it up into bite sized pieces and feed it to Justin!
The first bite is always the best. Especially when the food is heavenly. Your senses go wild. Visually, the plate is very nicely presented. The two pieces of chicken artfully displayed in the center of the plate with the little gnocchi placed around the chicken in a circle. The scent of lemon and rosemary fill my nose and my mouth starts to water. It is a moment to be savored when you're about to eat an amazing meal. My chicken is perfectly seasoned, but I did receive a grilled lemon half, so I decided, what the heck, and squirted some juice over my chicken. Best. Decision. Ever. It made the flavors pop even more than they already did! Justin's lobster literally melted in our mouths, with tastes of lemon, butter, and garlic. This is one of those meals that you don't ever want to stop eating, regardless of how full you are.
Toward the end of our meal, our server asked me if I wanted to try a different wine. He said it was a sweet red, but since I like Riesling, I may like Stella Rosa. Typically, I am not a red wine fan but he offered me a free sample, so why not? Stella Rosa is not your average red wine. It's a bit sweet, a bit tart, and even a bit fizzy. Not bubbly like champagne, just..fizzy. Surprisingly, I liked it A LOT!
Next came our complimentary chocolate truffles. These are the richest, most decadent chocolates I've ever tasted! Justin and I shared one and had to take the other two home. Man, oh man, they are good!
As we were walking out, our server wished us a happy anniversary again and the hostess even stopped us to ask how everything was and wish us a happy anniversary. Today, I received an email thanking us for visiting Fleming's. I know this restaurant is not for those on a budget, you certainly pay a pretty penny to eat there, but the saying, "You get what you pay for," definitely rings true at Fleming's. This restaurant is amazing, with a terrific staff, and a comfortable, classy environment. I cannot wait to celebrate another occasion at Fleming's!
